FEE POLICY

All fees are listed in CAD or USD, unless otherwise stated.

SERVICE FEE > BUYERS

As copit strike for a safe and joyous experience of luxury shopping, we need to charge a service fee of 3.5% plus any applicable GST/HST/VAT/Sales Tax, to ensure the authenticity and quality of all merchandises. This service fee helps cover the effort of quality control and insurance-related needs, so you can have a peace of mind knowing that your purchase is protected with care. To avoid confusion, this service fee will be clearly displayed in the checkout process, so you can see the total cost of your transaction.

LABEL FEE > CONSIGNORS & SELLERS

Please note: The standard label fee of C$15 plus applicable /GST/HST/VAT/Sales Tax will depend on your item’s location and the address associated with your account. Label fee may vary for locations outside of Canada and United States, but copit always strike for the best rate with our freight partners to ensure the lowest possible rate for our dear consignors.

COMMISSION FEE > CONSIGNORS

We want to let you know that listing item(s) is always free on our platform. Yet for copit to maintain an excellent service and operation, we need to charge a commission fee -- kicked in only when your item(s) has been successfully sold to buyer(s). The commission fee is calculated the lowest at 18% of the final selling price, plus a standard label fee. Here is a breakdown of our commission fees based on final selling price (in CAD):

  • 00001 -- 00499 => 35%

  • 00500 -- 00999 => 30%

  • 01000 -- 04999 => 24%

  • 05000 -- 14999 => 16%

If your items are fast-moving or currently hot, we can offer better rate. In addition, if consignors are willing to participate in one of our promotional campaigns, particularly seasonal auctions, flash-sale or pop-up events, etc., we're more than willing to provide a better rate. A commission fee is only charged when an item sold through copit. For items sold under $1000, the commission fee is 55% and for items sold for higher, the commission fee is 45%. Here is a breakdown of our commission fees based on final selling price (in CAD):

  • 00001 -- 00999 => 55%

  • 01000 -- 14999 => 45%

On the other hand, we can also provide itemized expenses for the works done on your item(s) prior to listing and charge our regular rate for commission fee. This process may take a bit longer, but we take pride in making the program more transparent if needed. 

​

The commission fee will include any treatment, repair, and restoration work, and shipping, for which may cost hundreds of dollars or more (e.g., some items such as damaged luxury handbags may require total deconstruction and reconstruction that will cost 2-3 times more than making an entirely new bag). Funds earned from consignment can be deposited to your preferred bank account, cheque issuing, or payment sent to your PayPal, or cash payment depending on your location.​ At copit, we’re serious about contributing to a more sustainable future, so you can get an up to 15% fee reduction by opting in for store credits to fund future purchases. Our in-store credits will never expire.​
